At almost 18 miles, this route covers two of the three peaks in the yorkshire three peaks. starting at horton in ribblesdale the route initially climbs up pe. Pen y ghent or penyghent is a fell in the yorkshire dales, england. it is the lowest of yorkshire's three peaks at 2,277 feet (694 m); the other two being ingleborough and whernside. it lies 1.9 miles (3 km) east of horton in ribblesdale. it has a number of interesting geological features, such as hunt pot, and further down, hull pot. Pen y ghent is one of the famous three peaks of yorkshire and, together with ingleborough, is probably the most recognisable fell in the dales. often spelt 'penyghent', pen y ghent is a rare example of the survival of a pre anglo saxon name for a pennine summit. no one knows for sure what the name actually means. Hundreds of straws on the roof of battlefield cavern deep below ingleborough. unlike pen y ghent, the only other pennine mountain that can rival ingleborough in the popularity stakes, there are a variety of routes to choose from. the shortest is from the old hill inn, chapel le dale which ends in steep zig zag path from humphrey bottom.

at almost 18 miles, this route covers two of the three peaks in the yorkshire three peaks. starting at horton in ribblesdale the yorkshire dales ingleborough and pen y ghent 18.4 miles of impressive views good weather and a great experience in yorkshire in this video lisa and i tackle the yorkshire three peaks challenge with our friends, molly, tim, chris, lee and steve. the 24.5 a high level yorkshire dales vlog,a great walk up to the summit of pen y ghent (penyghent) trig point via plover hill with its my final walk in the yorkshire dales. having packed away the tent and loaded it all back in to the car; i wasn't about to jump on the a hike up pen y ghent, one of the three peaks, in the yorkshire dales. the route follows an easy path across the moor, a steep dave and andy have a walk up pen y ghent in the yorkshire dales.we started our walk from the church in horton in ribblesdale. a guided walk up ingleborough snow covered the summit with lush green fields beneath. this walk was done in july and largely followed the route of the pennine way from horton in ribblesdale, up horton scar road by a 6 mile round trip, we intended to do the yorkshire 3 peaks but due to the poor weather conditions we decided to view hull pot in in this video i head to the yorkshire dales with the focused performance crew to run the 3 peaks. it was a wet and wild weekend
